Day three with Hughes

I have met with Hughes twice again today. His caregivers stated that he is acting like the others that have been adopted. Apparently they start to feel "important". I guess because they get some special attention for these days that the new parents are there to visit. That undivided attention must make them feel good.

He is walking so well, I think I have seen improvement this week alone. We walk outside a lot on my visits. I did capture him walking on video to share. I am quite sure that I will be chasing him in a couple of months.

When the caregivers bring him to me, he smiles and will reach for me, but when they come to take him back he gets really excited to see them as well. I am glad that he is attached to them because that means he will attach again.

Before I left the orphanage this morning, I had to provide them with his new name. "Hughes William Crumbley" He knows Misha, so it is really hard to call him Hughes. I have been calling him Misha Hughes for transition. They will continue to call him Misha for now, so I don't think these few days are going to help.

I have been taking tons of pictures and I can't wait to show all of them to you.
Have great evening!!!!!!!

Everything sounds so wonderful (except the ankle pain). I am so excited, I can't stand it, so I don't know how you are handling it all. After all this time, it is amazing to hear the wonderful news!! Hope the medical exam isn't too bad.
Love,
Shelley

Hi Shari!

I think calling him “Misha Hughes” is a great way to introduce his name. Maybe the caregivers will start using his name while you are away. I hope your foot/ankle feels better. How long will you have the cast? Good luck during your physical tomorrow…they aren’t so bad. Can you bring something of Hughes (like a tshirt or stuffed animal) back home for Izzy to smell and play with?

Take care…

Let me say I love reading all your blogs. Make sure you get lots of rest when you get home, because your resting days are over...LOL But that is a part of becoming a mommy.

I miss those days of chasing my boys. So enjoy cause they grow up so fast so like the song says "Don't Blink".

I can't wait to see all the pic's of him.

Shari,
I feel like a Grandma waiting to see your first child. Can't wait for pictures. He will be so easy to love...even through the terrible ones. I pray for you each day.

Shari,
I am so excited for you and Hughes. I know you have to feel so relieved to know that he is healthy and happy and has been loved in the orphanage. This should make the transition easier for both of you. So sorry to hear about your fall. You've had such a rollercoaster ride with this whole thing you should write a book! I'm really excited to see your pictures and hear all about your litle boy and your trip. Please travel safely home and I'll see you soon.
