This blog has been created to journal my adoption. As many of you know, this journey has been a roller coaster ride. One beloved friend said this phrase came to mind during one of the many dips..."the road to H*** is paved with good intentions". The journey has certainely been H***, but the outcome will be wonderful.
I thought it might be a little hard sending Hughes to Kindergarten, but I did OK. I think it was easy because he was sooo ready and excited. He got right on the bus and declared Julia was going to sit next to him.
I tried to capture Makayla and Hughes jumping in our pool at the same time. There is too much delay on my camera. This is the best of all the pictures I took.
For the last 4 years we have been going to Florida every May. The last three have been at a wonderful beach front condo resort called Waterscape. We barely leave the condo for the entire week and always meet new people that we enjoy being with during our stay. Hughes is getting tall enough to use the lilly pads and overhead rope climb in the pool area. I think we graduated from the toddler pool this year.
We have been celebrating the tradition of St. Nicholas since Hughes arrived. The boots we sit on the porch belonged to my father. Hughes knows they belonged to Papa Albert, but are now his.
All of you have been wonderful during this time. Your thoughts, prayers, and shoulders have been a blessing to this endeavour. I am unable to express my gratitude to all of you, you know who you are. Please enjoy this blog and the continuation of the journey.
