This blog has been created to journal my adoption. As many of you know, this journey has been a roller coaster ride. One beloved friend said this phrase came to mind during one of the many dips..."the road to H*** is paved with good intentions". The journey has certainely been H***, but the outcome will be wonderful.

- 11/8/07 New rushed passport arrives--smeared!!
- 11/16/07 New (improved) passport arrives
- 12/11/07 Home Study Complete
- 3/5/08 Uzbekistan paperwork submitted
- 3/20/08 Single women unable to adopt from Uzbek, 10 month old girl in Perm Russian girl offerred
- 3/27/08 Perm Russia paperwork complete and submitted
- 3/31/08 Little girl is adopted by Russian family and no longer availble to me
- 4/3/08 Offerred Misha (aka Hughes William) in St. Petersburg, Russia
- 4/18/08 Paperwork redone for St.Pete and submitted
- 6/5/08 Misha (Hughes William) turns 1 year old, citizenship paperwork completed
- 6/19/08 Notified of travel date to visit Misha (Hughes William) in St. Pete
- 6/29/08 Arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia
- 6/30/08 Fell while sightseeing and broke my leg
- 7/1/08 Met Misha/Hughes at orphanage #8
- 7/2/08 Signed Letter of Intent
- 7/3/08 Misha officially named Hughes William Crumbley
- 7/4/08 Signed letter of obligation with Hughes official name change and his country change
- 7/5/08 Arrived back in the USA
- 8/11/08 Immigration approval recieved in the mail
- 8/26/08 Final paperwork hand-carried by another couple to Russia. Awaiting court date to be assigned
- 10/7/08 Received Russian court date for Nov. 5th
- 10/31/08 Return to Russia
- 11/5/08 Court date, awarded adoption of Hughes William Crumbley
- 11/6/08 Fly home for 10 days
- 11/17/08 Arrive in Russia to bring Hughes home
- 11/19/08 Take Hughes from orphanage #8 and fly to Moscow
- 11/22/08 Arrive home with Hughes

I can't wait to welcome Hughes home!
That time is just around the corner. What a long and bumpy ride you both have had. Hughes is one lucky little guy to get you for a mom. Have a great trip and know that you and the little guy are on my mind and in my prayers. I know that all of your friends will will be sending our love across the miles.

When you get settled my friend amy has alot of gently used boys clothes (her son grew out of them to quickly!) She also has some toys for you to check out!

Hey, hope you enjoyed the flight! Your dog keeps looking for you and I told her she is stuck with us for a week.

I guess you have arrived in St. Petersburg by now. Can you believe your greatest dream is finally coming true??!! On Tuesday, you will know in your heart when your eyes meet Hughes' that there is a reason your path to motherhood was as long and winding as it was. God never said, "No." He just said, "Not yet. I have a little boy that needs all of your abundant love." He will fill your soul with joy and laughter like no one else can do...and you deserve every ounce of happiness his presence in your home will bring! Thinking of you constantly and praying for a smooth trip and safe return.
